Pictures of the Nursery...Better Late Than Never!

We obviously finished the nursery months ago considering the baby is now 6 months old. I've just been so busy, I hadn't taken pictures yet.

I still have a couple butterfly prints that I need to print and frame. Still need a door. And still need to get a rod into the closet. Will be making my own closet system at some point.

Nursery..Almost Done!

The nursery is finally almost done. The only things left to do are the trim work, the door, and decorations. The only decorations I'm really concerned about at the moment are curtains. That room gets direct sunlight.

Here is what it looks like now.

We're getting there! So close to the end.

Nursery (Slow) Progress

Well, we're still plugging away on the nursery. The drywall is done. The mudding is done. The primer is done. The cutting in for the painting is done. It still needs to be painted for real.

We are doing Valspar's Betsy's Linen for the ceiling, closet, and three walls. The other wall is getting a purple. I haven't purchased it yet so forget the name.

My dad will be coming down in a couple weeks to teach us/help us lay the laminate flooring. Then, minus trim, it will be done. It will at least be done enough that I can start putting together the crib, etc. Right now all our nursery furniture is living in the boxes they came in downstairs in the third bedroom.

I don't have any pictures of it right now. But it just looks like primed drywall so will hold off until the painting is finished.

Finally, the Flowers!

Anyone remember this post? I promised to show you how the flowers looked later?

Yeah, I kinda forgot. Then my camera was being a pain to get pictures off of it and onto the computer.

But finally I have an update!

Here is a reminder of what it looked like after we made the flower bed but before the flowers came up.

And here is what it looked like when the flowers were at their peak.

They did get a little, tiny bit taller and fuller. And then we had hurricane/tropic storm Irene come through and knock them all down.

I'm hoping to have another update on the nursery soon. As I type this, my husband and father-in-law are working on the 2nd coat of mud then we can paint. Hopefully this weekend.

New TV Stand

We finally upgraded our old TV stand. Not even on purpose. I have been wanting an entertainment center but couldn't afford one just now. Then we were driving home from the grocery store one day and saw one on the side of the road for $25. It was in really good condition. I don't normally like light wood but for $25, I really don't care.

Here is what we have had since college.

Yes, those are those plastic shelves you put together. I made curtains to cover it and make it look a little better.

Here is our new TV home.

Such a big improvement.

Eggs In a Box

Yup. Those are eggs in nesting boxes! So far, in the new coop, they have only nested in the nesting boxes. I don't expect that to change. Now it is habit and where they want to be.

I'm so excited I no longer have to lean waaaaay in to get a couple eggs.

They have also been laying more eggs since moving to the new coop. We used to get 2-3 a day, once in awhile, 4. We have been getting 4 or 5 every day since they moved to their new home. I'm so excited! Now I just have to remember to take the eggs with me when someone wants a dozen. :)

With a Cluck, Cluck Here

Drumroll please!!

The new chicken coop is..........FINISHED!!

The first one (if you remember) was too small. So we have been working on a new one. But between the rain, heat, funerals, and competitions, it has taken us over a month. So without further ado, here is the new coop.

So very excited to have this done. I think the chickens are too. They had been living the in the empty pig pen up the hill. Then even have a play yard that is about twice the size of their old ones and nesting boxes they actually fit in. Here's hoping they actually use them this time.
